We firmly believe that your hard-earned donations should go to our cause and not to"operating costs". "Operating costs" is a buzzword many charities use to pay their directors and staff large salaries, as well as fancy dinners and expensive gifts to their donors. As a result, only a small portion of their donations may actually go to their particular cause.
Our staff, including our director, work on a 100% voluntary basis and receive absolutely no compensation other than the feeling of doing the right thing and prayers from our friends. No extra money is spent on any "perks" whatsoever - the staff buys their own food, drives their own cars, and pays for their own gas. Your money is not going to be used to buy "gifts" for influencial clients nor any other fancy "donor" awards. No free lunches, no gold/silver member pins, no tote bags, no cute stuffed animals (sorry teddy bear lovers!), no calendars, no plane tickets, nothing. We deeply respect our donors and show it by using your money (a representation of your hard work) for our cause of freedom.
Unfortunately, there are some expenses that cannot be avoided. These include utility costs, paper, ink, rentals, telephone, direct mail and advertising costs, and lobby costs. At the present time, about 4% of your donation will go to program expenses, but we hope that we can make that percentage even lower!
